Join us for a full day of learning! Whether you're a dog professional or a serious dog lover, we'll have lots of great information to entertain and educate you on one of our favorite species.

This seminar is for people only, however, quiet and well-behaved dogs are permitted to accompany their people on leash.

Session One: CRACKING THE CANINE CODE 9:00am-1:30pm
Presented by: Sara Reusche CBCC-KA, CPDT-KSA, CVT

Learn what your dog is saying and how to talk to dogs so that they can understand you!

This interesting interactive presentation will include lots of examples of canine body language, and plenty of opportunities to practice the art of “reading” dogs.

You will learn:
- Common stress signals that every dog uses.
- How to calm a nervous dog using his own language.
- Why not all wagging tails are friendly.
- When is growling a good thing?
- What appropriate dog-dog play looks like, and when you should intervene.
- Advanced body language for professionals, including tap-outs, height seeking, aggression, reactivity, and arousal.

This presentation will have something for everyone, whether you're new to the world of dogs or a seasoned professional.

Session Two: HAPPY HUSBANDRY, 2:00-3:30pm
Presented by: Lindsay Kinney, CPDT-KA

"Fear-free" veterinary and grooming care is all the rage these days! Find out how you can teach your or your client's dogs to become active participants in their care. Lindsay will cover the basics of reward-based training and counterconditioning programs, as well as how to work with dogs who already react negatively to handling.

Session Three: REACTIVE ROVERS, 4-5pm
Presented by: Megan Janning, CPDT-KA

Reactivity is a common behavioral concern for dogs. Megan will give a broad overview of the common types of reactivity, as well as the wide variety of treatment interventions available to pet owners and professionals.
