Rally Obedience Foundations

Rally Obedience is the latest up-and-coming new dog sport, and one in which you can compete and earn titles, just like obedience and agility.

It is a cross between formal obedience and canine agility. Like agility, the judge sets up a course and places signs which direct the handler and dog around the course in a particular order. Once given the go-ahead, the handler/dog team is on their own to complete the course without any other instructions from the judge. Rally-O can be used to prepare your dog for formal obedience as most of the exercises are ones that people use while preparing to show in the obedience ring.

We teach Rally-O following the guidelines of the American Kennel Club, United Kennel Club, and the World Cynosport Rally League, and our classes will help prepare you and your dog to compete in any of these venues.

It is also loads of fun! Unlike traditional obedience, handlers are allowed to talk to your dog and interact with them through out the entire course. You will learn all the basics of Rally Obedience to prepare you and your dog for competition in the first level of rally, including a formal heel; front position; finish (where the dog goes from sitting in front of you to heel position by your side); sit, down, and stay in heel position; and more.

This class is designed to be repeated by students who would like to continue perfecting or who want to refresh their Level 1 skills for competition.
