K9 Nose Work® Continuing Odor

Note: Trainer/dog teams must complete our K9 Nose Work® Introduction to Odor class before entering our Continuing Odor classes.  Instructor’s permission to enter this class is required for all teams.

Crate Prerequisite: Dogs must be crate trained to participate in nose work classes. Your dog doesn't need to be quiet in his or her crate, but will need to be comfortable staying in the crate or in your car (weather permitting) between turns.

If you are reading this, you probably have a lifelong case of Nose Fever! And share in the sheer joy of this bonding activity with your dear companion(s).

Aimed at the avid Nose Work hobbyist as well as the dedicated Nose Work competitor, this class will still rely heavily on the foundations that brought you here as well as ready you for continuing challenges for fun and/or titles!

Interspersed with more advanced and competition-like searches, will be advanced topics/discussions involving the science of odor, air currents, and canine odor processing.  We'll help you develop a deeper understanding of how your dog discovers and follows the scent cone in the different elements.

Each dog will be addressed individually to work on specific challenges that your team may be having. Some dogs excel at Interior elements but might struggle with Vehicles, or a handler may have be trouble “reading the dog” during a confusing Exterior search.  We can help troubleshoot and problem solve with you.

This course is for you, your dog, and a lifetime of happy sniffing!
